MY HIDDEN SECRETS: How to recruit people in network marketing

March 17, 2015 2 Comments

Hey hey hey.

Are you frustrated that you can’t sponsor more people into your network marketing biz opp?

Are you tired of seeing other people blow up their downline while you struggle to gain any traction?

Well, bust out the champagne because we’re about to celebrate.

I’m going to share my secrets on how to recruit people in network marketing (that 98% of people don’t know about).

And the best part is that it will save you time, money, and energy.

Here we go!

How to Recruit People In Network Marketing

Most network marketing company’s tell you to build your business by:

– talking about your business to anyone with a pulse
– harassing all your friends and family members (ew)
– passing out informational fliers/brochures/dvds (*snooze*)
– hosting home parties and hotel meetings (yuck)

and a bunch of other methods that make you feel scuzzy.

Here’s the problem with those methods…

…you are marketing to people who don’t really care.

There is a saying in the marketing world and it goes like this:

“if you are marketing to everyone then you are marketing to no one.”

This is the biggest mistake traditional network marketers make when trying to build their business.

Here’s the more efficient and less scuzzy way to do it:

Learn how to market yourself online starting with a blog.

Whatever network marketing company you’re affiliated with, there are probably dozens, if not hundreds, if not THOUSANDS of other people searching for more information about that company every month using the internet.

They probably head to Google or whatever search engine they prefer, and start punching in search phrases like:

– “company review”
– “company scam”
– “company products”

and so on and so forth.

Now let’s compare these people with your friends, family members, and anyone else with a pulse that you have been “pitching”.

Who do you think is a more qualified lead?

The people who are already searching for information on your biz opp.

Let’s go a step further.

What if you had a blog post show up on the first page of Google that gave them all the information they were looking for.

I’ll save you the suspense.

YOU become the credible source, the authority, the person they can trust.

Maybe you throw in a little YouTube video as well so they can see your face and hear your voice.

You’re no longer a stranger hiding behind the computer screen, but a real person they can relate to.

All of a sudden your downline is growing because handfuls of people are finding your post every month, relating to you, and joining you.

Makes sense, right?

You can also close people like a boss on Facebook.

So how do you do this.

5-Steps to recruit people in network marketing online

Step #1: Start a Blog

A blog is how you brand yourself online.

This is how you stand out from all the other company cheerleaders and distributors who are all doing the same thing.

Not to forget, it’s how people will search for information about your network marketing company and find your blog post in the search engines (kind of like how you found this one).

This part is non-negotiable. You must have a blog.

It is your home base on the internet.

Don’t worry, I’ve created a simple to follow tutorial on how to create a blog from scratch (step by step).

Step #2: Do keyword research

This is how you discover what your hungry buyer is searching for in the search engines.

I gave a few examples above, but you will want to pinpoint exactly what search phrases they are typing into Google so you can create blog posts pertaining to those keywords.

Use the google keyword planner tool to do this.

Step #3: Create content

After you identify what your hungry buyer is typing in the search engines, you want to create content that caters to their search. Make it all-killer, no-filler content.

Answer all the questions they may have and help solve their problems.

This is how you become the authority resource that people know, like, and trust (and buy from).

Step #4: Market and Promote Your Content

Just because you publish a blog post doesn’t mean people will find it. There are certain things you must do to rank your blog post to page 1.

Start off by learning the basics of search engine optimization and creating backlinks.

Step #5: Build Your Email List and Promote Your Products/Services

The purpose of your blog is to capture leads. You do this by offering something of value for free in exchange for their email.

After they opt-in, your goal is to build better relationships with the subscribers on your list so they know, like, and trust you.

Teach them new things, help them solve their problems, share success stories and testimonials, etc.

It usually takes at least 7 follow ups before someone buys, so be consistent and follow my email marketing tutorial.

Then align your products/services as the solution to their problems.

That’s how to recruit people in network marketing online.

It saves you time, money, and effort because owning a blog is cheap, and you only have to write the blog post once, rank it to page 1 of the search engines, and then people will find it 24/7/365.

Then you can use an email management solution that will automatically send out pre-written emails over a series of time (which pretty much removes you from the entire process).

Now you have an asset on the internet that works for you all the time. It never eats, sleeps, or takes a bathroom break.

Earlier this year I joined a relatively new mlm company. With years of network experience under my belt, I found myself in a brand new position in this Internet age. People are reluctant to host home parties these days, so I was struggling to reach more people to grow my business. I have been marketing my business like crazy on Facebook and Instagram with little ROI and conversions. You confirmed what I was already thinking regarding my need to blog to grow. Thank you!

      Hi Beverly,

      Thanks for the great comment!

The internet has made it more possible than ever to reach a wider audience that is also laser-targeted.

Facebook and Instagram are two amazing places to build a brand and grow a following, but it’s VERY important to guide those people to a capture page so they can opt-in to your email list and you can further build the relationship with them and promote your products and services.

Likes and comments are great, but they don’t make you money!
